Maya stands in front of her rainbow of people. A woman with many scars, but full of hope, and full of life. A poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist, her body is laced with her vibrant and powerful thoughts. Throughout her life, she learned many lessons that she shared with the world, and I, like many others, am so thankful for her lessons.
