Moving to a completely new country makes you feel vulnerable. The ways in which you express your cultural background are challenged and scrutinized. Over time, my cultural heritage blends with the new land I inhabit. But it is not obscured nor is it abstracted. In fact, the connection I feel with my roots, with the world I left behind, is stronger than ever.
