This is a deeply personal painting because it’s a fusion of my roots as a Peruvian and my newer established self at home in the Pacific Northwest. I learned to love this part of the world, but I also can never forget where I came from. In a way, this painting is a landmark of my process of being an immigrant in this country, having the time to establish myself here, and love the land and the family I have become more than acquainted with in this stage of my life.
